Category-specific checks

Choose cosmetics, food supplements or foods. The original cosmetic policy is combined with its extensions. Supplements and foods use their respective sections of the extended policy. Exclusions do not automatically transfer between categories.

Three result states

A direct match identifies a listed term or implemented family rule. A review flag indicates a conditional exception, ambiguous name or possible OCR error. No match means that the available rules did not identify a term; it does not confirm acceptance.

A transparent label index

The index is 100 × (unique declared ingredients minus matches) / unique declared ingredients. Each reviewed line has equal weight. Review flags produce a range, counting them as matches at the lower end and excluding them at the upper end. For 10 ingredients, 2 direct matches and 1 review flag, the result is 70–80/100.

This is not a safety, health or nutritional score, and it is not Sikalias certification. Even 100/100 cannot establish full compliance. Adding unmatched ingredients may raise the index, so it should not be used to rank products. The check does not assess medicines, treatment suitability or allergies.

Exceptions and unseen criteria

Phenoxyethanol traces in specific premixed actives, approved pH-adjusting uses of certain acids, and preservatives restricted only at undefined high concentrations require further information. Photos cannot establish pesticide residues, undeclared impurities, plant origin, extraction methods or production practices.

Policy and privacy

Version 2026-09-15.1 implements 143 original cosmetic clauses plus extended-policy additions, as 167 rules with selected names, aliases, families and exceptions. Open-ended families are not an exhaustive chemical dictionary.

Greek and English OCR and matching run on the device. Photos and recognised text are not sent to Synology, FarShop or cloud AI. No scan history is retained. The user must review the complete ingredient text before scoring.
